  • What is a guitar setup?
A professional setup is a series of adjustments, maintenance and any needed upgrades to make your instrument play and sound its best. Your unique playing style and instrument build are taken into consideration in order to give you the best possible result.
  • Do new guitars require a setup?
Most major guitar manufacturers and the box stores that sell their guitars do not set up new guitars for the best sound and performance. The ones that do have long waiting times and less passionate hourly employees that may not give you their best. We guarantee an honest up front, free appraisal of what your guitar needs. • What information can I give to ensure the best result?
The more accurate you are about your experience with your guitar and what "isn't quite right" is a good place to start. Describe your desired results as to string height, tolerance to "buzz" and your playing style are all important to know for best results.
  • How long will it take for my setup to be completed?
Gold and Elite plan members enjoy service priority, however most setups can be completed in 48-72 hours. It depends on current workload on a "first come, first served" basis.
  • Can I provide my own replacement strings and parts?
Absolutely! But be sure you provide the parts that are made for, and fit your guitar. Please call to discuss pricing and book your appointment. Any service price adjustments will be agreed to during our call.
  • What strings are best for my playing style?
It largely depends on what feels right for you, BUT there are a few guidelines to keep in mind. With strings you get what you pay for. Choosing lighter gauged strings makes it harder to fret the string and tend to cut into your fingers more. Experiment with different string gauges to find what's best for you. Players like Stevie Ray Vaughan mixed string gauges from different packs! (He worked most often GHS Nickel Rockers and sometimes Boomers).
  • Do memberships include the cost of shipping my guitars?
No. If you are too far away to drop off and pick up your guitar(s) you'll have to cover the cost of shipping to me and I will include the cost of return shipping in the final invoice.
  • How is my information used?
Your information is NEVER sold. If you submit your email to be kept updated on our service and promotions you will receive periodic emails. You can "unsubscribe" if you no longer wish to receive emails.
